Organizational Cultures : Types and Tranformations
Organizations in our complex world increasingly rely on managers, but it is culture that defines what 'good management' is. This book uses the term 'culture' in an innovative way to encourage readers to question norms and definitions they may have taken for granted. Four types of organizational cultures: support, power, role and achievement are described, and used as a vehicle for a novel discussion of the central issues in organizational behaviour, such as styles of management, level of motivation in the workplace, the types of transformations which can occur, and the implications of increasing multinationalism in today's corporate world. Providing chapter objectives and summaries to aid self-assessment, and written from a refreshingly international perspective, this book is an excellent introduction to the subject of organizational behaviour.
